Stephanie M. Alcala
ATTORNEY
Stephanie M. Alcala, Esq. was born and raised in San Diego, California. The U.S./Mexico border has been a constant presence in her life. As the daughter of immigrants, the complicated processes of the immigration system affected her family members and friends.
Seeking to understand more about this complex area of law and how to help individuals to navigate the process, she has dedicated herself to the practice of immigration law. Due to her own personal experiences with various immigration processes, she is passionate about helping her clients and empowering them with knowledge of the immigration system. As an immigration attorney she has been able to combine her love of knowledge with her passion for helping people. After attending Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California, she transferred to the University of California, San Diego where she earned a degree in Communication. She then attended California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, where she earned a Juris Doctor.
Stephanie is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association, La Raza, and Lawyer’s Club. Her practice focuses on immigration and family law.
Ravi Mohan Mohan
Family Law
Ravi V. Mohan, Esq. is the family law attorney at Stephanie Alcala Law Offices. Joining our firm at the start of 2017, Mr. Mohan works meticulously to advocate for clients in a wide-range of matters ranging from divorce, custody and visitation, and child & spousal support.
Mr. Mohan is proud to have been admitted to Thomas Jefferson School of Law under the Dean’s Merit Scholarship. During his time at Thomas Jefferson, he earned the Jefferson Medal for client interviewing and counseling as well as Pro Bono honors at the Public Defender’s Office.
Prior to dedicating his time to Family Law, Mr. Mohan worked on a major securities case and was in-house counsel for a software technology firm. He has criminal defense experience gained from spending his last year in law school interning at the Public Defender’s office in downtown San Diego. Mr. Mohan has been admitted to practice law in California by the Supreme Court of the State of California.
With his free time, Mr. Mohan enjoys spending time with his wife, going to the gym and watching sports.
Lidia Pantoja
Paralegal
Lidia Pantoja is a paralegal with a focus on Immigration Law at the offices of Stephanie Alcala Law Offices, APC.
Lidia has more than 15 years of experience in the field of immigration law. Lidia has worked with distinguished Immigration Attorneys including Barbara Strickland among others. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Instituto Tecnologico de Tijuana. Lidia was born and raised in Tijuana, Mexico, in 1994, she emigrated to the United States and in 2000 she obtained her American Citizenship, which has allowed her to understand and connect with our clients undergoing the difficult and confusing immigration processes, Lidia is very pleased to be part of the future of our clients.
Joshua Hernandez
Paralegal
Joshua Hernandez is a family Law paralegal at Stephanie Alcala Law Offices, APC. Joining the firm in 2016, Joshua works closely with our family law attorney, Ravi Mohan, in handling cases from start to finish with the utmost care and professionalism.
Joshua’s prior experience includes working with a Personal Injury/Social Security Disability Law Firm as well as a large multi-state law firm representing major financial institutions.
Joshua is fluent in both Spanish and English and holds an American Bar Association Approved Paralegal Certificate from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of California, San Diego. In his spare time, Joshua enjoys photography, videography, and mountain climbing.
Ivonne Ruvalcaba
Paralegal
Ivonne Ruvalcaba Working as Immigration Legal Assistant at Stephanie Alcala Law Offices, APC. Ivonne has a master’s degree in Comparative Law from California Western School of Law. She was born and raised in Tijuana Mexico, graduated from Universidad Autonoma de Baja California and one year later graduated with a Master’s Degree in constitutional Law and Administrative Law from the same institution.
As an Attorney in Mexico and an immigrant, Ivonne feels the responsibility to help those like herself who came to the USA looking for a better future. She is planning to seat for the California Bar Exam in 2018.
Her experience as an Immigration Legal Assistant taught her to better understand the problems our community faces here in the U.S. As an immigrant, she knows that we are not only working for someone’s green card but for their future and their family’s future. There is no greater satisfaction, as a professional, than to know that you are part of a team helping to make our clients’ dreams come true.
